CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Matt Woolbright, a former intern for the Boston Globe and Gannett, has been hired by The Associated Press as a temporary legislative reporter in Carson City.
Woolbright will work with statehouse reporter Sandra Chereb to cover the 2013 Nevada Legislature, which begins Feb. 4 and runs for four months. He begins his assignment next week.
Woolbright has worked as an intern for the Globe, Gannett's Washington bureau and the Des Moines Register, covering politics, crime and courts and the Iowa caucuses. He also had internships at the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he edited the student newspaper, The Battalion.
