As a former employee, I found out really what happened from the 'pack monkeys'. AT&T has decimated its workforce and everything is controlled from another state. The current employees in the switchroom are 'pack monkeys'. All they do is wait for a call from Texas or wherever and then instructed to change out a circuit pack. There is no knowledge anymore locally. Also, Mr Britton or a reporter stated that it was 'due to a software upgrade'. Well, first of all, upgrades are not done at 5pm, so that is not an honest answer. Second, the software did fail(and that is expected of any electronic equipment), but the sad part was, backups were not being done on a daily/weekly basis. Also, where is the redundancy? One of the glorious engineers design it wrong that resides in Texas? AT&T tells you what you want to hear, but they are corporate raiders. The CEO makes $10 million a year and treats the employees and retirees like crap. Randall Stephanson is not worth the money, he just inherited the prestigious job as the CEO and he is not a leader, but AT&T is so big, nothing can be done. Glad the internet is back up, so I can order internet from a competitor, no more lies from AT&T in this household

I called AT&T about an hour after it went out. took 40 minutes to get through, they told me something happened in Nevada. Then I said, I noticed the sky was busy today and Black SUV's Running around town in Stead/Silver Springs area. He paused and said, yes, there was an accident, we won't have access to internet for 24hrs. Crews are working on it. Funny thing is.. I was walking my dog and saw something that sent my butt right home.. then, I counted 7 jets in the sky. Then, the internet went down!

I hate whiny people. All you do is whine whine whine. If you had Verizon, Charter or Sprint you would also whine about them. It's utlities people! Power goes out too right? Sometimes for days! Go complain to you mothers...

So AT&T says this outage is software related. Then why was it reported that AT&T has or had "Crews" out to repair the problem? It is now 1 am on Wednesday morning...My lightning fast Yahoo / AT&T Internet pipeline is still not working. This is the same kind of crap the public had to deal with when they only offered black rotary dial desktop analog phones! *Notice this article has no phone line for their customers to call to report a service issue in your area...just, "we are working on the problem....yattah, yattah" I'm sure the AT&T office phones work just fine. LOL

Yeah AT&T is mostly fail IMO anyways. Cell coverage is spotty at best, dropped calls in iPhone 3 to iPhone 5 all across reno in my experience. Over charge customers for all services, bundles that suck and U verse that operates at 6mbps LOL. They us obfuscation, dirty corporate practices to screw over customers and employees. When I see ppl cry about it I just shrug, this is common knowledge.

CHARTER TOO Last night from approximately 5:20 till 9pm charter, Renown hospital and my home line HAD busy signal ??? I HAD a personal emergency and couldn't GET THREW SO I TRYED TOO CALL CHARTER BUT they ALSO had busy signal ?? WTF ¿
