RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- New estimates show the Affordable Care Act may not drive up health care costs as much as once thought.

Figures from the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint committee on Taxation show premiums are not expected to rise as much as previously predicted. The overall cost for implementing the law is expected to run about $5 billion less than previously thought.

However, less money in penalties will be collected because the administration decided to delay the employer coverage mandate.
