RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Reno-Tahoe International Airport held a memorial service this morning for an airport K-9 police officer who died last month.
The memorial was held for Fritz, a highly trained K-9 Explosive Detection Officer.
Fritz, a German Shepherd, worked to protect two U.S. presidents, 3.5 million passengers per year and millions of pounds of cargo.
His work went beyond the airport. He used his training to protect against bomb threats and to ensure the safety of political candidates and VIPs throughout the region.
