WASHOE COUNTY, NEV. (KRNV & Mynews4.com)--All outdoor activities planned during the school day have been canceled in Washoe County due to poor air quality.
Dana Balchunas, the Director of Student Health Services, says the air quality has not improved today, therefore a directive was given to all schools to keep children inside.
According to the district, the air quality has been closely monitored since the smoke and haze started moving in to the valley. This cancellation will be in effect until air quality improves.
High school and middle school activities planned after school, will go on according to plan, unless otherwise directed by the athletic dept.
