All lanes on Highway 50 North of Cave Rock are now open after 3-Vehicle Crash

UPDATE: All lanes, both North and South bound on Highway 50 are now open after a three vehicle crash involving 17 people.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol the crash happened at around 8:50 Tuesday night just north of Cave Rock on Highway 50.

Troopers say they believe at around 8:40 Tuesday night an SUV crossed the double yellow lines and side swiped another SUV before hitting a mini-van head on.

Out of the 17 people involved 8 people were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
UPDATE: The eastbound side of the road has re-opened. News 4 has learned 3 people were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, 16 people were involved in the crash.


DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - A three vehicle crash on Highway 50 at Cave Rock has the road closed in both directions.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol the crash was reported around 8:50 P.M. We have not been able to confirm how many people are injured or what types of cars were involved but as of now we know that there were no deaths.

The article says it is north of Cave Rock and that's in Lake Tahoe.
