AUBURN, Calif. & RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Flyers Energy, LLC says it has purchased Allied Washoe Petroleum. In a news release the company said it was looking to expand in Western United States and targeted Allied Washoe Petroleum.
In the news release Allied Washoe Petroleum CEO Mike Cox said the deal was "...in the best interest of our customers, our employees and our shareholders...".
The deal allows Flyers to distribute Shell brand lubricants in Northern Nevada and gives the company access to the Pacific Pride commercial fueling network.
Allied Washoe Petroleum is a petroleum distribution company specializing in commercial fleet fueling services, bulk fuel supply, and comprehensive lubricant solutions for industrial, commercial and agricultural use.
Flyers says it's looking at other purchases in Nevada and California along with Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Arizona.
Flyers Energy, LLC was formed in 1979 by four brothers: Tom, Walt, Steve, and David Dwelle. Their grandfather, Walter B. Allen, founded Beacon Oil Company in 1931, providing a legacy the Dwelle brothers would carry on with their purchase of seven gas stations in the greater Sacramento region. Naming the company Nella in honor of their grandfather (Allen spelled backwards).
In 2011, Nella Oil Company changed its name to Flyers Energy, LLC to align with the recognizable Flyers brand, as well as reflect its expansion into alternative energy sectors.
