RENO, NEV. (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- The American Red Cross officially launched the "Holiday Mail For Heroes Campaign." This year's goal is to send out 15,000 cards to men and women in uniform overseas and here in the United States.
5,000 cards were sent out last year.
"Every year during the holiday season, Americans take time to reflect and give thanks for the many gifts in our lives. Whether down the block, across the country, or around the world we gather with family and loved ones to share a touch of home," says Clara Andriola, CEO of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Andriola says we should also give back and thank those who serve to protect.
You can fill out your own card and bring it down to their office on 1190 Corporate Blvd in Reno. The Red Cross will also provide cards. The deadline for the cards to be signed is December 2nd.
