RENO, NEV. (KRNV & MyNews4.com)--Wednesday is your last chance to pick an ornament off a tree with a senior's name and his/her holiday wish.

Home Instead Senior Care puts on this event annually.

This year's "Be A Santa To A Senior" began back on November 4th. A Christmas tree is set-up in the optical department of Wal Marts around Washoe County.

Organizers with the event say this year was a success, but there are still seniors who need gifts. Home Instead Senior Care will be accepting donations through Saturday. They will be going and purchasing items for seniors who did not get picked off the tree so every senior has a present to open on Christmas Day.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 9 percent of seniors 65 and older live in poverty.
