HAWTHORNE, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- An investigation in a possible domestic dispute led to a drug bust in Mineral County on Tuesday.
According to Mineral County Sheriff Stewart Handte, 18 marijuana plants were found in an out building in the 700-block of F Street in Hawthorne. Deputies responded to the house on an anonymous report of the resident, ex-felon John Hunt, possibly abusing his handicapped brother and unlawfully possessing a firearm.
The abuse was denied by both parties, but during the search for the firearm, deputies found the plants in a bedroom closet and in the backyard building, along with drug paraphernalia.
Hunt was arrested and has been booked into the Mineral County Jail.
This is the second drug bust in Mineral County in the last week. On July 4, deputies found 35 marijuana plants and two opium plants at a home on Towe Road.
