CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- There is yet another phone scam to warn you about, and it is happening in our capital city.

According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, residents have complained about phone calls from someone posing as the current Undersheriff Steve Albertsen. The caller is warning about a warrant for their arrest.

The scammer tries to tell you about an unpaid traffic violation, and those who have received the calls say the caller does have accurate information about their vehicles.

Furlong said that so far, he does not know of any financial losses, but wants residents to be aware of the scam. If you have received a call like this, you are asked to call 775-887-2014 to report it.
