RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- After more than a month, the Reno Police Department has made an arrest in the hit and run in south Reno that left 25-year-old Gabriel Kennedy with serious injuries, including an amputated leg, on May 8.

40-year-old Myree Townsend has been booked at Washoe County Jail on charges of Hit and Run causing Substantial Bodily Injury, which is a felony crime.

Townsend, who turned herself in on May 22, had not been arrested until Tuesday, because the investigation was still ongoing. Reno Police said she has been cooperative with their investigation.

In a press release, the Reno Police Department thanked the community for all of their efforts in trying to locate the suspect and vehicle after the incident.

She swerved to hit him, he was not in her way. "She dropped a cup" (of possible alcohol) Rumors are she is a heavy social drinker and was at an event at a local casino and was drinking before she hit him.

I guess her being the suspect driver and admitting it would "Tarnish her Image"? She should have stopped and Gabes family needs to sue the crap out of her. I just hope that her taking all this time to turn herself in did not give her an opportunity to hide her assets.

A "professional image consultant" by trade. Sad story all around, although she still should have stopped.

She "turned herself in to the police in May" but was not arrested until today?
