Artown Kicks Off In Downtown Reno

RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) --Artown is officially underway in Downtown Reno. Organizers say they're more than excited for this year's events.

One of the exhibits featured is "Fish Along the Truckee River." It's a project that educates people about native fish, rivers and streams. The fish were decorated by elementary school kids in the area. It will be on display throughout the month of July.

The majority of the events are free to the public including the opening night at Wingfield Park. Mountain Heart will the performing along with Sherrie Austin.

"You know it is so exciting I can't tell you, we are a little exhausted already, but we are ready for  this evenings activities and all 32 days in July," said Jennifer Mannix, the Artown Director of Marketing.
