Question:
From the Ask Joe File a question about a road project from a local business owner.
Craig Conrad is the owner of Street Dreams Auto Sales on Kietzke Lane. He says the road construction going on there is turning away customers and he wants to know if the city can start later in the evening.  Right now they start around five o'clock and he says it has a big impact on his business.

Answer:
Craig I checked with the folks at Reno City Hall since this is a city of Reno project.
Crews have been digging up part of Kietzke Lane to replace a sewer line. The work started right after Hot August Nights.
The good news is they are almost done. They finished paving on Monday September 16th and they should have the rest of the work done by the end of the week.
The public works department says they do try to accomodate businesses and they point out while there were lane restrictions, Kietzke was never shut down during the project.
I also talked with Michele Anderson who works in the city's communciations office. She says they do their best to contact businesses and be as accomodating as possbile with projects like this. Of course, you can't accomodate everyone but they did schedule the work to occur in the evenings to reduce the impact on businesses as much as possible.
