From the Ask Joe file, one of our viewers has a question about the now-closed D'Andrea Golf Course.
A couple of viewers, including one who identified himself as a D'Andrea resident, wrote in asking about the D'Andrea clubhouse. He said there have been workers there for the last few weeks. He wants to know what the construction is all about.
News 4 took a trip to D'Andrea to take a look. The gates are locked, so it is hard to get too close to the clubhouse.
The golf course closed in 2012, and was sold at auction last year to an Arizona investment company for $1 million. Joe called the company on Tuesday to ask about construction plans, and they said, "No comment."
Joe checked with the city of Sparks, and a building permit was issued in February to Belfor Construction. It's a $13,000 building permit, which includes a number of modifications to the building, including changing walls, removing walls, dropping the ceiling, new drywall, insulation, paint and cabinets, plus electrical work.
The city said they do not know what the plan for the building is, but judging by the permit, there is some major work either going on or planned. Again, no comment from the investment company that owns the course, so we will just have to wait and see.
