From the Ask Joe file, two of our viewers in south Reno have written in with a question about a recurring problem in their neighborhood.
Tim and Molly Fink live in an apartment complex, near the corner of Neil and Delucchi, by the Meadowood mall.
They say every weekend, people drag race late at night, and they want to know how they can get the attention of police to stop it?
Joe put in a call to Reno Police about this on Wedneday. Lieutenant Bill Rulla said drag racing is an ongoing problem they have been dealing with for years. They used to have a program called "Dragnet" that focused on the drag racing, but that became expensive, because it involved a lot of officer overtime.
Rulla said they will do their best to have officers check this area out on the weekends, and they encourage drag racers to find legal areas like the Fernley Raceway to do their drag racing.
Another way to get a hold of the right people at the city is to call Reno Direct. The number is 334-INFO or 334-4636. Tell them the issue your concerned about and give them your contact information. They will respond and point you in the right direction.
