From the Ask Joe file one of our viewers has a question about some development plans in Douglas County.
Chris Cocking wrote in asking if we could help find information about a motocross track planned for Jack's Valley south of Carson City? He says he hasn't been able to find out anything, but he has heard it is going to open soon.
That track is apparently being built on Washoe Tribal land across from the Walmart on Topsy Lane, down in Douglas County. I called the tribal office headquarters on Tuesday and they refused to comment. Instead, they sent out a press release, which did not indicate one way or another whether plans are moving ahead. There have been some published reports that say the tribal council passed a resolution to develop a Washoe Motocross Center on 80 acres on the tribe's Lower Clear Creek parcel that's near Topsy Lane, but the tribe won't say when the track is going to be open or who will be able to use it. Because it's on their land, we'll just have to wait for them to tell us more.
The tribe does have an e-mail address where you can send your comments. It is email@example.com
