From the Ask Joe file, a construction project getting a lot of attention in the North Valleys. As News 4 reported earlier, it looks like it is going to be Amazon's new home.
A lot of people are curious about it. We have received a number of e-mails about it, more than any other topic recently. Barb, in Lemmon Valley, asked what is the building going up, located just before Lemmon Drive off North Virginia?
It is a massive building with 1.2 million square feet, and it is being built just off of North Virginia to the west of the freeway.
This is City of Reno territory, even though it is in Lemmon Valley. Joe spoke with Claudia Hanson in the city's Community Development department. All she could say is that the name is the Logisticenter.
But even though Amazon has confirmed they plan to move there, the city said no one has filed for a business license, so they have no idea who is going to be using the building. All they know is they issued a permit to United Construction to build it, but not much else.
So, if Amazon is moving there, the City of Reno said they do not know about those plans, at least not officially.
