From the Ask Joe file, another question about the big story that has been unfolding at the Washoe County School District.

One of our viewers wants to know whether former School Police Chief Mike Mieras will get a public hearing, especially after he spoke at the board meeting this week, and mentioned that he knew about possible illegal activity at the school district.

Our viewer said he would think the board would want to know more about this.

School Police Chief Mike Mieras was fired in June, as part of what was described as a restructuring of the department.

Will he get any kind of public hearing? The school district's legal office said Mieras' comments about possible illegal activity taking place are without merit. The school district said they checked into it, and they never received any reports or complaints of illegal activity until this week at the board meeting.

The district said no decision has been made on whether to grant Mieras a public hearing. But if it were to happen, the school district said it would need to know the specific nature of the accusations made by Mieras, so that it would be able to respond accordingly.

Mieras served as Police Chief for 12 years. He told News 4 that he is still considering whether to take legal action against the school district over his firing.

I don't care one bit if the Mierases are good people who give 110 percent. Get OUT of your stinking WCSD bubble and realize, as long as a contract is followed, NOBODY OWES YOU A JOB NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU HAVE WORKED FOR AN AGENCY OR A COMPANY? Understand that? Martinez could let Mike Mieras go for any reason, as long as his contract was followed. Get your head out of your ass and realize MOST people don't make anywhere NEAR what that pair made, and they certainly don't make it off the taxpayers. They aren't hurting no matter what, unlike most people who are let go. The Mierases need to move on and not disgrace themselves in front of the board.

This is amazing. Start working at home with Google. It’s a great work at home opportunity. Just work for few hours. I earn up to $100 a day. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out

Tonysam needs to get her facts straight and shut up since she is giving comments that are untrue. As she referred Mieras and his wife are good people who give more than 110% to the Washoe county school district. I don't think I know two people that are more committed to their professions. Unfortunately people like tonysom make comments that are untrue and I hope people realize these comments are coming from an informed person. She is the one that needs to shut up!!

Tonysam you are bitter and I understand it may be tough to deal with the district "dumping" you for being incompetent. I lol every time you post, this time it is funny because the chiefs wife had to complete part if your job because you were so incompetent!

Mieras needs to shut up. His and his wife's groveling before the board the other day was nothing short of unseemly. He's not going to sue because no doubt he already got his severance package in exchange for not suing the district. Tighten your belt from your former combined $180,000 annual salaries and move on. You are doing far better than most of us who have been dumped.

Would the Chief even want to come back? Question is when this much damage is done how can anyone be effective? Regardless of any wrong doing at this point it doesn't really matter does it! Clean everyone out and start over! Come on, the Governor should be taking control and making some serious choices here!
