Question:
Shannon Anderson wrote in saying all she heard about for two straight weeks was the five murders in Fernley.   Now, she is hearing nothing.    Her question is what's happening with the case ?

Answer:
Shannon I checked with Fernley Justice Court this afternoon to get an update on the case involving Jeremiah Bean.  Bean is the man charged with killing five people back in May.
According to the court, Bean is due back in court on July 23rd at 10:00 for a status conference.
Bean was arraigned on multiple charges including the murders back in May, and at that time the judge ordered that he undergo a psychiatric examination.  I'm told that examination has been done and that information will be presented in court on the 23rd.
That's how it goes with these cases sometimes. There is a lot of news when it happens and then things do slow down in the court system but only because it takes time for the cases to  move through the system.
Once the psychiatric reports come back it will be up to the judge to decide whether to schedule a preliminary hearing.  That would be the next step if the defendant is deemed competent.
So we'll let you know what happens on the 23rd.  Rest assured we will stay on top of this story that impacted so many people.
