Question:
Jeannie Miller wrote in saying she drives past the new National Guard facility in Carson City often and wonders why there is no American flag displayed anywhere ?

Answer:
Jeannie, I was headed to Carson City today for another story so we went by the National Guard building on Fairway Drive to take a look for ourselves.
There is a flag but you have to look very carefully to spot it.  The two flags U.S. and Nevada are actually located on what appears to be the back of the building, the north side, away from Fairview Drive.
That's just the way the building is set up.  The entrance is  away from the road.
According to Sgt. Erick Studenicka in the public affairs department, the flag is  flown almost constantly. But he admits it is not easily visible to the public.
For a little background  information that building was completed in 2002 and the flag has always been there.
Also,  If you have state or federal I.D.  you are welcome to drive into the complex to see not only the flag display but there is also a military tank that you can view up close.
