RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- News 4 has received word that Timothy Duran, a 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident deemed "at-risk" by police due to a history of mental illness, has been returned home safely.
RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Timothy Duran is a 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe resident with mental health issues who has been reported to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department as missing.
Duran has no history of being a danger to anyone, but has been prescribed medications for mental health purposes and can become very confused without them. Duran’s mother is his care taker, and reports that he has not likely been taking his medication for a few days.
Duran has a history of occasionally wandering away for a few days at a time, but usually remains within the Tahoe area. In the past, Duran has been known to wander in the woods and along roadways. He will occasionally hitchhike or frequent local drinking establishments.
Duran was last seen on Tuesday, April 22nd around 6:30pm. His last known communication with anyone was on Wednesday, April 23rd around 4 p.m. There is no current clothing description for Duran, but he is a white male 5’-10” and 135lbs, with brown collar length wavy hair and a short beard and mustache. Duran is listed as “at risk” because of his need for medication and his resulting confusion without it. The SLTPD is asking for the public to call 911 if they recognize Duran in the area.
