SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- According to South Lake Tahoe Police, Ruth Anne Scudder -- a 28-year-old voluntarily missing adult -- has been reported missing for the second time in an eight week period. Her previous disappearance occurred in early May.

Scudder has a mild mental handicap, which causes the police to consider her at-risk. Her family reported Scudder left their shared South Lake Tahoe residence two weeks ago, on Wednesday June 4 and has not been seen by her family since.

Ruth does not drive and, although she has a history of voluntarily leaving home unannounced, she has always returned within a few days.

Due to the extended time frame she has now been missing, her family is growing increasingly concerned.

Ruth Scudder is 5’4” tall and weighs 135 pounds. She has blond hair and green eyes. Her family has attempted all means of communication with Ruth without success. Ruth has no financial resources with her, and her circle of friends is unknown to her family.

No crime is suspected at this time, but the police are requesting help from our community in locating her.  Please call SLTPD dispatch at (530) 542-6100 with any past or current sightings of her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Hopefully Ruth will be found and return home safely.

Every time She is missing, is a reason to be concerned and be on the look-out for. just as we would do for any human being. Put the word out, be proactive. As we would for anyone that we knew that might be missing. The synopsis of this story ticks me off. She is somebody's family. If She is at risk...then find her. As many times that it may take. It will never be too many.

I surely hope that she makes it home safe and sound. The headline is tacky. It sounds like, "it's been twice now......." Why does this news station find the need to equivocate the amount of times?
