MONTELLO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A 52-year-old Montello man has been charged with Attempted Murder after Elko County Sheriff's Deputies say he tried to kill his ex-wife.

Lane Shelton is accused of firing a handgun at the woman during a domestic dispute at his home on Tuesday. The incident happened about 10 miles northwest of West Wendover.

Elko County Undersheriff Clair Morris said Shelton shot at her through the living room window as she walked outside. He missed and she was able to safely reach a neighbor's house, where she called deputies.

Shelton's bail is set at $100,000.
