RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The victim of Sunday's attempted murder-suicide at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center has died.

Francis Dresser, 86, was transported to Renown after the shooting. Her husband, William Dresser, is being held without bail at the Carson City Jail on charges of Murder. He is also under a Suicide Watch.

According to Ken Furlong of the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Mrs. Dresser was in the hospital for a previous injury. Mr. Dresser entered her room on Sunday, and fired one shot into her chest. According to statements made by Mr. Dresser at the scene, he had intended to kill his wife and himself, but the gun malfunctioned. Mr. Dresser suggested to officers that his motive was to end his wife’s suffering.

Mrs. Dresser and her husband were married for over 60 years, and residents of Douglas County.

I'm sorry I may get bashed for this as well but that man has my support %1000 it takes love an guts to try an fulfill your wife's wish. An it kills me. It kills me that he's behind bars, I would want my other half to kill me, understandably his way was a little much. I wouldn't want to die a slow an painfull death. All the meds in the world wouldn't help. I'm 20yrs old I may be to young to understand but if someone wants to die they should have a that right. We should be able to tell our doctor that I don't want to live, again with some rules to it. We as human can decide for other living things when they're life is over simply because we don't want them or they're ill. Why are the rules so different. If I was dying I would want the option of a fast and painless death. Mr. Dresser, was a man who loved his wife, and didn't want to see her in pain anymore and did what she wanted, why can't we have that option

May she rest in peace now, mission accomplished :( But now he is still alive to grieve, that wasn't part of the plan SO sad.

I don't care what anybody say's, it took a lot of guts to do what this man did for the love of his wife! This was something they both obviously agreed upon it's just tragic there wasn't an easier way for both of them!
