RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto announced that her office will participate in the 24th annual National Night Out events located in Carson City and North Las Vegas on August 7, 2012. National Night Out brings the community together for a celebration filled with food and entertainment to help raise awareness about crime and drug prevention.
National Night Out demonstrates that with strength in numbers, we can send a forceful message to criminals,” said Masto. “We will stand strong with the community to assure everyone is safe from crime and drugs.”
The event, sponsored by the North Las Vegas Police Department, will take place on Tuesday, August 7 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, at Hartke Park (1900 E. Tonopah Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89030). The event, co-sponsored by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the National Association of Town Watch, will take place on Tuesday, August 7 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Mills Park (1111 East William St., Carson City, NV 89701).
Designed to bring neighborhoods together in the fight against crime, National Night Out generates support and participation in local anti-crime activities. The mission of National Night Out is to empower neighborhood spirit and strengthen police community partnerships.
Nevadans are encouraged to attend these events and visit the AG’s table where information about fraud prevention, consumer protection, and community prosecution will be available.
