TONOPAH, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Tonopah Field Office is seeking public comments on the Preliminary Environmental Assessment (EA) for a Special Recreation Permit application from Tough Mudder, LLC, to conduct a team endurance run and obstacle course near Beatty, NV, in Nye County.
The event is scheduled for October 6-7, 2012. The event, staged primarily on private land, would allow runners to use a narrow course across segments of public land to extend the course to the desired total distance. All staging and support facilities for the event and most obstacles would be located on private land. The comment period will end September 27.
Comments received during the comment period will be analyzed and considered during the decision-making process. The Preliminary EA may be viewed here
