UPDATE: 9 a.m. -- According to our crew on the scene, the situation involving a potential suspicious package has been cleared. Authorities on the scene determined that there was no threat and all trains back up and running.

Washoe County Sheriff's Office tells News 4 they are investigating a suspicious package near the Mustang exit of Sparks on Highway 80 East. According to our crew on the scene and a spokesperson at Washoe County Sheriff’s office, officers on scene are following standard operating procedures. The package is located adjacent to the railroad not impacting any structures, or roads. The WCSO spokesperson tells us that a bomb squad is present as a precautionary measure. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
