Sparks, Nev (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Police quickly found a suspect after the Bank of America located at 2650 Oddie Boulevard was robbed early on Saturday, October 6th.
Just after 9 am, both Sparks and Reno police arrived at the bank after receiving a call from an employee reporting a robbery.
According to that employee, the bank had been robbed by a white man in a red knit hat, grey sweatshirt and blue running shorts. The man had handed a teller a note threatening her if she did not hand over money.
The teller followed the robber's instructions and he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. It is unknown whether or not the robber was armed.
Police quickly found a man matching the suspect description driving an unlicensed pickup in the area, and arrested him in a traffic stop.
Police have identified that suspect as Jason Schmidt. According to police, Schmidt is cooperating with the investigation and all the money taken from the bank has been recovered.
The Sparks Police Department is asking for anyone who might have seen Schmidt at or near the bank, or who may have seen his 1986 Chevrolet Pickup in that area to report what they saw at 353-2225.
