Sparks, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Sparks Police report that one suspect is in custody after a robbery of the Bank of America at 700 N. McCarran street on the afternoon of Friday, March 29th.
According to police reports, just before 5 p.m. a woman entered the Bank of America, and gave a bank teller a note that said that she was carrying a bomb in her bag, and that she would be leaving the bomb at the bank when she left. She eventually left on foot with an undisclosed amount of the bank's money. Bomb Squad members examined and confirmed that the bag left behind contained no bomb.
After talking with witnesses, Officers of the Regional Gang Unit found a robbery suspect in the 800 block of Nichols, near the Marina Car Wash.
The suspect has been tentatively identified as Tammy Gomez, but her identity has not yet been confirmed by officials. During an interview she admitted to the bank robbery, and the stolen money was recovered.
Gomez was booked into Washoe County Jail. She is charged with making a Bomb Threat and Robbery with the use of A Deadly Weapon.
