RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Nevada Department of Wildlife warns there is a bear increase in west Reno.

NDOW says the black bears are mostly in the Mayberry area along the Truckee River corridor. The hillsides above Mayberry in the Caughlin ranch area have also been frequently visited by bears in recent weeks. NDOW says the bears like the fruit trees in that area.

People needing to report nuisance bear activity can call the NDOW's bear hotline telephone number at (775) 688-bear (2327).
