Bicyclist dies after collision with truck

FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) — A Fernley man who collided with a pickup truck while riding his bike in Fernley has died.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says 57-year-old David Bertroch died Aug. 14 at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, two days after being struck.

Authorities say Bertroch was riding his bike on Main Street when he collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by 52-year-old Carson Shockley of Fernley.

Bertroch was not wearing a helmet.

His death was disclosed Monday by the NHP.

The accident remains under investigation.
