RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Today, the Reno Bighorns are hosting a "first responders night."
The team is inviting all first responders, including police, firefighters, EMTs, and any emergency response personnel, to come to the game and also participate in the Bighorns' first-ever "two-ball tournament."
It starts at 2pm at the Reno Events Center. Teams of one adult and one child will have 30 seconds to earn points for made baskets of different values around the court. The winning team will receive a Reno Bighorns gift pack: two courtside seats, and 10 tickets to donate to charity.
Next week, the Bighorns and RSCVA are hosting the NBA D-league Showcase. Game play starts Monday. It will feature all 16 NBA D-league teams playing games, plus a slam dunk and three point contest. It's the second consecutive year Reno is hosting the event meant to highlight future NBA stars.
