RENO, NV. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) –Blackhawk Network and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) announced today the opening of a new 130 seat business support center in Reno.
City of Reno Mayor Bob Cashell and Blackhawk Network CEO Bill Tauscher participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house today at their 15,000 sq. ft. facility. Blackhawk Network is a leading provider globally of prepaid financial payment products and the Reno contact center will house three separate divisions of the company, according to a press release from EDAWN.
"Blackhawk Network is excited to announce the official opening of its first service center in the United States," said Tauscher. "Our new facility will deploy state-of-the-art systems and deliver a world-class experience, while boosting the local economy."
Reno will become a flagship site for having their customer service in-house for the first time in company history, according to the release. In addition to customer service, the Reno location will be responsible for the risk division, and the desktop support division.
Blackhawk selected Reno for their business support center due to the labor pool which provided ideal demographics for their hiring needs. Initially, Blackhawk intends to hire 80 positions, and shortly thereafter they intend to be at full capacity supporting more than 130 employees in their new business support center. The wages will be above the county's average wage.
