VERDI, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Boomtown Casino and Hotel has been calling the area home for 50 years now with a little celebration on tap for Wednesdya night. And with 50 years in the books, it's time to turn the page and get ready for the next fifty.
"There's an overall 10 year plan so we can keep going in the community and be such a great part of this on the I-80 corridor," Boomtown Casino and Hotel Director of Marketing and Sales Trish Trenoweth says.
Boomtown Casino and Hotel has been an iconic location welcoming people from the west to the Biggest Little City since the1960's and now it's time for a $20 million facelift.
"It's a great way to look at this property after 50 years," Trenoweth says.
Boomtown got it's first shot at a new life in 2012 when the property was bought by new owners who saw a bright future while also staying true to their loyal cliental.
"There's a lot of guests who have here for many years and they just love seeing the change and seeing someone care about the property," Trenoweth says.
It doesn't take long to see the new upgrades. The lobby, sports book, the rooms have all been renovated. Plus, all new looks for their restaurants like their famous Lobster Buffet have been fixed up. There's also bee fun new additions like a 1966 replica of the batmobile on display right outside the fun center and sports book for visitors to enjoy. They've also added a seven day a week guitar bar to help liven the place up. Finally, Boomtown is putting their 20 acres of land to work and they now hosting weddings in their orchard.
Trenoweth says there's a lot more exciting renovations to come so stayed tuned.
