DONNER SUMMIT, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A cold air mass moving across Donner Summit has allowed Boreal to do snowmaking operations. Plus, the National Weather Service is predicting 4”-9” of snow to fall through Friday, Nov. 9. If the weather conditions continue as forecasters are saying, Boreal Mountain Resort intends to resume operations on Saturday, November 10, 2012.

Boreal Mountain was open for skiing and snowboarding beginning on Friday, Oct. 26. The following six days of operation the resort suspended operations due to warm temperatures. With the current snowfall and cold temperatures Boreal plans to reopen as the only resort in Northern California to offer skiing and snowboarding.

Boreal Mountain Resort will make an official opening announcement on Friday, November 9th following over 24 hours of ideal snowmaking. An announcement regarding operations, hours, lifts and rate will be made on www.rideboreal.com and www.facebook.com/borealmtn. Woodward Tahoe remains on the normal operating schedule of 11am – 8pm daily.
