BARSTOW, CA. (KRNV & - Former Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks appeared today via teleconference in a California courtroom in Barstow on charges relating to his arrest on Thursday from a high-speed chase involving California police.
Brooks is facing charges of resisting a peace officer with force, willful harm to a police-serving dog, felony evading and throwing objects from a vehicle with intent to harm.

According to KSNV, Brooks asked for a reduction on his $100,000 bail because his family wants to take him in for a psychiatric evaluation. He is set to appear in San Bernardino County Court again on April 9 for another hearing.

On Thursday, March 28, Brooks was involved in an altercation with a tow truck driver and fled from police, prompting a high-speed chase, according to police reports. Other police departments helped in the Brooks pursuit. A spike strip was used to stop Brooks’ vehicle, and he pulled over north of Stoddard Wells Road.

Brooks was subdued with punches and a Taser, arrested at gunpoint and jailed in California's San Bernardino County after police say he attacked a police dog with a wrench.

His arrest on Thursday came just hours after the Nevada Assembly expelled him.

Hmm, Carson City "Judge" Tatro gave the guy serving NDOT Director Susan Martinovich a $500,00.00 bail for just serving a subpoena. Obviously that was a coverup and now Judge John Tatro has a slew of judicial ethics complaints against him... The high bail is intended to keep him in jail, but it may also be a violation of US Constitution Amendment 8.

You must know him well, since you've decided his fate already.

Perhaps he should also hope for a reduction in the amount of attention he seems so good at getting into. Hey, folks remember the lone dissenter also out of North Las Vegas from last weeks ouster circus in Carson? I wonder if she still believes this terd can redeem himself. Place Brooks in the hole where this nutz and boltz belongs. Surprised he did not murder someone yet.
