VERDI, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The U.S. Forest Service and multiple agencies are on the scene of a brush fire at Henness Pass in Verdi.

There are five to six brush engines present at the pass. The Forest Service tells News 4 more than a quarter of an acre has burned, but they are making good progress on the fire and it's not spreading.

The Forest Service responded to the fire around 2 p.m. Monday. One of the U.S. Forest Service fire captains on scene says preliminary findings suggest someone was camping where the fire began, possibly making this brush fire human-caused; the exact cause of the fire, however, is still under investigation.
