RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Reno Fire Department has contained a small brushfire at the intersection of Longley Lane and Maestro Drive.
According to a Reno Fire spokesperson, high winds caused a downed power line which started the fire. Several fire alarms went off in the businesses surrounding the power line.
According to NV Energy's Faye Anderson, the incident occurred at around 3:15 p.m., and affected 4,000 customers in the southeast Reno area. All power has been restored.
The power surge also overheated the motors in the go-karts at Need 4 Speed, causing the business to close for the rest of the day.
