UPDATE - APRIL 5, 2013 - 2:25PM - According to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong, today air and ground units searched the north end of town where McCune lives.

Furlong says units could not find him, so they have ended their search for today.

Furlong says it appears McCune's disappearance involves a "personal relationship" and isn't work-related.

Deputis are attempting to identify witnesses and are trying to locate witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at (775) 887-2500.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Carson City Sheriff's Office is looking for a missing endangered man.

At around 8:36 a.m., CCSO responded to a “welfare check” at the 700 Block of Silver Oak Drive. The people at the scene informed said William McCune. McCune, 62, is 5 foot 9 inches tall, bald and has blue eyes.

McCune had not reported for work and had missed a scheduled work related flight early this morning.

CCSO says although no one was located at the apartment residence, the deputy on scene requested the assistance of detectives based on the obvious appearance of a severe struggle inside the apartment.

Detectives have contacted local area hospitals and detention centers and not been able to locate McCune. One of two vehicles registered to McCune was located nearby, but the second, a 2000 maroon Dodge pickup with tinted windows, Nevada license plate 769XTL, could not be located.

The Sheriff’s Office considers McCune as a missing and endangered person.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Investigations Division, at 283-7851, or the Sheriff’s Communications Center at 887-2013.
