RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Cabela’s Spring Great Outdoor Days 2013 in Reno will usher in the season with seminars, demonstrations and cooking events for the entire family on March 16-17.
This year, Cabela's Spring Great Outdoor Days will feature hands-on activities for all ages including beginning fly fishing (10 a.m. Saturday only), trophy scoring by Boone & Crockett scorers (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days), grilling tips with free samples of sausages (Saturday 1 p.m.) and setting up an outdoor kitchen (Sunday 1 p.m.).
In addition, local industry pro staffer Rick Kennedy with Tightlines Guide Service and Lowrance will do two fishing seminars and one on sonar on Saturday and David Cousineau with Tri-Tronics will be doing seminars both days on dog training and electronic collars. Dan Shipman with RCBS will do two reloading seminars each day, one for beginners and one for advanced reloaders, Mike Raymond of Mountain Mike's Reproductions will do shed mounting sessions on Saturday and Ryan Trenka of Hunting GPS will do a GPS mapping seminar at 1pm Saturday.
Several conservation partners will be in attendance and providing free services and answering questions including emergency preparedness, state parks and recreational opportunities and second ammendment rights. Those groups attending are the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), National Rifle Association (NRA) and Friends of the NRA, Nevada State Parks and the Nevada Wildlife Record Book with certified Boone & Crocket scorers.
