RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- There will be a candlelight vigil Saturday night to remember the victim of Thursday's stabbing. The interdenominational service will take place at 7 p.m. in the Jiffy Lube parking lot at Keystone Ave. and Seventh St. All are invited to attend.

The victim from Thursday morning's stabbing incident passed away in the operating room, according to Reno Police Department. Police found a victim of the stabbing around 4:30 a.m. on the sidewalk in front of Jiffy Lube on Keystone and 7th, just north of I-80.

Law enforcement tells News 4 that the victim was a white male, who appeared to be in his 50's, suffered a serious stab wound before being taken to Renown Medical Center.

Investigators are working with police and there is a crime scene on lock-down, said Sgt. Tim Broadway.

"Considering the time of day, early in the morning at 4:30 a.m. with not a lot of pedestrian traffic out with no witnesses, not a lot of people commuting to work, it's going to be very difficult for detectives at this point to determine exactly what happened and who the suspect is," Sgt. Broadway said.

Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward for the information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. Call secret witness at 322-4900.

Seems Reno has a lot of stabbings. This young man was a relative of mine they know who the perpertrator is but as of this time had not arrested them. Reno should address the well over 100 stabbings per year.

I saw this crime scene (was still a large tape-ff,late in the a.m.) YESTERDAY. Pls. don't just "phone-in' news. "investigators are working with police" doesn't make sense. & maybe we have seen the unidentified, unfortunate victim in the neighborhood? Nice to see there is community support and empathy, because mostly there are impatient drivers around here
