RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Grand Sierra Resort has announced the Candy Barrel in the resort will be closing at the end of February.
The Grand Sierra released this statement regarding the closure:
The Grand Sierra Resort is committed to creating a world-class destination in northern Nevada. The experience of our customers and guests is our foremost priority and, over the past 18 months, we have invested significant capital in renovations and improvements that have again established the property as one of the region’s best. As is the case throughout our community, the challenges of trying to remain successful in a difficult economic environment have forced us to make adjustments to some aspects of our business, including our retail areas. We did offer lease extensions to several of our tenants and we are disappointed that we could not reach an agreement with some of our tenants, including the Candy Barrel. We do wish them luck in their future endeavors. Currently, we do not, have plans for this space, but we will continue to make announcements about the ongoing upgrades and additions to the property as soon as they become available.
