SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A 38-year-old woman driving on 4th Street in Sparks had her car door fly open, and when she went to close it, she accelerated and crashed into a home, according to Sparks Police.

The home she ran into was located at 2081 4th Street. Police say a 17-year-old male was outside at the time and sustained head injuries after being hit. He was transported to Renown with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the crash, but are looking into possible charges against the driver.

Currently the southbound lane at 4th Street and Richards Way is closed due to the incident.
