RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- For the 12th consecutive year, the Give Hope Foundation is hosting a festival to aid Northern Nevada children with catastrophic illnesses.
The "2012 Carnival of Hope" begins with entertainment, reception and hosted beverages. There is also a silent and live auction bidding on Friday, October 26 at 6 p.m. at Harrah's Reno.
Tickets are $50 per person or a table of 10 for $400 and are available by calling (775) 250-2998 or by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org
During the event, pediatric otolaryngologist, Dr. Courtney Garrett, foundation sponsor and avid supporter who has cared for sick children in Northern Nevada for the past 9 years, will kick off another fund raising project called "Hair for Hope" where she will cut and donate her hair at the event - and encourage others to follow suit - to help children going through chemotherapy who have lost their hair.
Give Hope Foundation provides families of children with illnesses immediate financial assistance to cover living expenses. Ninety percent of the proceeds raised help families here in Northern Nevada and ten percent is dedicated to life-saving pediatric cancer research. The Foundation hopes to raise $50,000 at this year's festival.
