CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Carson City All Stars Intermediate Little League team is one step closer to the Little League World Series, but they need your help. The Western Regional Tournament Starts Thursday and taking the entire team plus the coaches to the tournament in Nogales, Arizona, comes with a hefty price tag.

This incredible group of ball players from Carson City had quite the season. First they won the District Tournament followed by a win at the State Championships this past weekend, allowing them to take one step closer to playing in the Little League World Series by playing in the Western Region tournament hosted in Nogales.

The funds collected will be used to offset the heavy costs of transportation, hotel & food for 12 players & 4 adults for the 11 1/2 days they will be down there.

“They work really hard and they work every single day training,” says Carson City Little League Vice President Richard Gunkel. “It’s already a financial challenge for the parents. To continue to carry the cost of the equipment and bats and cleats and everything, then to put a trip to Nogales on top of that, just out of the blue.”

The boys need to raise $12,000 to send 12 players and 4 coaching staff on the 11 day journey to the southwest. To help donate you go to the teams GoFundMe page by clicking here
