Why is the Media afraid to call this what it really was, A HATE CRIME. The Latino shooter went in there and walked up to a table with white people only, in military uniform and starting shooting them. He didn't just walk into the place and start shooting. He TARGETED white, military people SPECIFICALLY. If it had been a table of blacks or latinos and a white had done the shooting, HATE CRIME, HATE CRIME would have been the first words out of the liberal media's mouths. Try and report the facts for once and quit trying to hide the truth. These men and women were willing to serve and if necessary die for their country. They've earned the right to have the truth told about the way and reason they were SENSELESSLY killed.

Steve W. -- We lived in Carson City from 2002 to 2004. I too pray that all who are being treated will survive. There are no good explanations for situations like these except that what was done was a sin against God and mankind. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with Carson City to help heal the hurt of this violent act.

9:38AM Did I really just hear from the two reporters on TV questioning whether an AK47 is legal and accessible? Did you three also imply AK47's are illegal or should be? Why did the gentleman question whether or not the AK47 was "jimmy rigged" (the correct term is "jerry rigged") to fire in automatic mode, when clearly automatic mode (as far as I know) was not used in the first place during the episode? Facts: - These were semi-automatic weapons, meaning you bullet per trigger pull with no reloading activity necessary; - FBI Background checks are done on all weapons sales; - It takes a skilled weaponsmith to change over a semi-auto rifle to an automatic one; - Making this incident into an opportunity to "go negative" about guns is wrong, so shelve the anti-gun agenda Channel 4; - A lawfully armed military or private person would have ended this "encounter" quickly and limited the number killed - remember, "police are only moments away when you need them right now." Let's not play political games or use incidents like this to advance a larger agenda - focus on the losses and impact of those losses on the families, the military and the community. Save the hand-wringing "do-gooder" responses for when some time has passsed and self-erudition has occurred.

Prayers & condolences to all the victims. However- it was un- called for that one of your reporters asked if the shooter made any religious comments. Please stick to facts.

Reading on FB that in the Carson City shooting tragedy...The individual that entered IHOP and began shooting was a boyfriend of an employee of IHOP...News IS reporting that gunman entered IHOP and was initially yelling at (and shot at) a woman inside IHOP. Random individuals were shot at --not only those in military dress. I would hope that News reports are fully reporting all of possible "realities" in this situation --and that "terrorism" or political conspiracy (in order to further --sensationalize--or put fear into our community does not take place). My heart and prayers go OUT to all of the victims and their loved ones. ...I cannot even imagine the shock fear and deep sadness that they are currently experiencing.........

Prayers go out to all. Such a sad tragedy. The gunman was defintely selfish and it's sad he chose to take others with him and bring pain & suffering to those that are friends and family of those lost. I heard that 2 of the 3 dead were military too, just brings tears to my eyes as I read the breaking story updates. Remember, people kill people, it's not the guns fault.

This gunman had an semi-automatic gun, and was the boyfriend of an employee of IHOP. My son is on the lawn at Fandango Casino, and there is one boy covered with a sheet on IHOP law. The killer shot himself. I pray those in serious condition at Carson Hospital recover completely. They are in my heart and prayers. Sandy Castor
