CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A 49-year-old Carson City man has been sentenced to at least 35 years in prison for committing repeated sex acts with a child over a period of seven years.

Carson City District Attorney Neil Rombardo says James. G. Johnson sexually assaulted the girl beginning in 2005 when she was 8 years old.

He was convicted in April of three counts of sexual assault with a child under 14, one count of sexual assault with a child under 16 and three counts of lewdness with a child under 14.

Assistant District Attorney Mark Krueger says that while the victim has to live with the pain and memories of the assaults, at least now she may "be at peace knowing her assailant will no longer abuse her."

The creep should have gotten life without parole. He has destroyed this girls life, that's for sure. A life for a life. Even if he is 85 when he gets out, he could still be a threat. No cure for these types and they'll use objects if nothing else works. 35 years is better than the 5 they usually get.
