CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & -- Carson City has settled in a lawsuit regarding the euthanization of a dog when the dog's owner could not afford to pay to take the dog out of an animal shelter within 72 hours.

Lawyers say the city has taken full responsibility for the incident and has changed their policies to make sure such an incident does not happen again.

The recipient of the suit, Jeraldine Archuleta, will be making a donation to an appropriate animal welfare group with the money.

Brandy, EAD!!! You obviously are one of the hateful people who worked at the shelter, so your post shows the lack of compassion and evil spirit of the shelter itself.

This is such a crock...They gave her 5 days not the three that is stated. the dog never had shots and that is why the fine went from $85 to $100. Not to mention that the dog was turned in to the animal control because he was at large. And the dog bit the handler at the shelter during temperament testing. He had no tags, no license, no shots, and he bits people...That is why he was put down -- biting people...She was rewarded for being a bade pet owner....
