CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A new report shows the number of visitors to Carson City increased in 2013, bringing with them economic gains for Nevada's capital city.

The analysis presented Monday to the Convention and Visitor's Bureau says lodging occupancy was up 4 percent last year.

The Nevada Appeal reports the number of visitors rose to 653,552, up nearly 23,000 from 2012.

Tourism officials say sales taxes collected from visitors amounted to $20.4 million last year, compared with $19.9 million the previous year.
